Lumberjack candle holder

Danish designer Simon Legald designed these candle holders after being inspired by the silhouette formed in a tree trunk as lumberjacks slowly chop away to a trees centre. Each set of the Lumberjack candle holders are created from a single cylindrical piece of solid wood. The collection is sold through

Converted Hat Factory in Brussels

This beautiful loft in the centre of Brussels, Belgium has a history as an old industrial building which was home to a hat factory. Transformed by owners Fatti & Pierre, the loft is styled through the combination of Fatti's feminine touch and Pierre's amateur architecture. The home results in a beautiful airy home with vintage and modern pieces.

Let's Eat

Having worked at Kikki K while studying a few years ago, I have always been a fan by their marketing and especially the photography and styling. The Swedish brand displays their clean, simple and beautiful products in a way that is inspiring and makes you want their products.

This new Foodies Collection, Let's Eat is no exception. It is cute beyond belief and makes me long for an organised kitchen.

Zakka Mart

I'm not normally one to care about Halloween and i'll admit I had to look up specifically what date Halloween actually falls (it's today)... but this year I stumbled across a few cute ideas for costumes. We don't really do Halloween parties here but where I go rock climbing at The Edge, there is an opportunity to dress up tonight to get free entry for climbing. Tempting... but I think i'd end up spending more on a costume then the actual entry fee!

Anyway, this little store Zakka Mart has the cutest collection of mugs to disguise your face and transform you into a pig, cat or moustached man. And they're so affordable!

Nendo 'Splinter'

Tokyo and Milan based design company Nendo designed this 'Splinter' collection for Conde House, a manufacturer based in Japan's famous Asahikawa wooden furniture region. Each piece of wood is splintered as though peel parts away. By approaching the wood gently and going with the grain the wood retains its original pliancy. Here are images of the mirrors within the collection which display simplicity at its best. The rest of the collection includes a chair, coatrack, clothes hanger and side table.

I've recently discovered Denmark based, family-run interior design business House Doctor through Swedish blog Husligheter. The latest catalogue 'Moments' is wonderfully photographed and super inspiring. I haven't figured out where the closest stockist is for us here in Australia, but i will keep researching! Watch this space...

7 Vignettes August

This past week you may have noticed that I have been uploading photos on Instagram a whole lot more frequently than ever before... I thought i'd explain why ive been hoarding your feeds... It's called 7vignettes... And it's been going on for ages (every month this year). I've been viewing each months entries but never got around to entering the full seven day competition, until now.
So what is it? It is an instagram competition run by Jen Bishop of Interiors Addict the first seven days of each month. Jen will post the list of topics/themes for the months competition a week or so before it starts so you can starting planning and preparing. Each day you enter a vignette (a small cluster of objects or things that have meaning or resonate an emotion or memory) that follows the days theme and at the end you could win a prize. You can view all the other entries at #7vignettes. It's pretty fun actually... And it's really inspiring looking through everyone's entries and how they view each theme...

Here are my entries for this month... I'm not super pleased with some of them, but i'm happy that I created all seven and therefore completed 7vignettes! I find it hard styling things from home when you feel like you don't have much stuff to pick from... but I guess that's all part of the challenge!

Day 1: Tea/Coffee

Day 2: Bedside
(i got a bit excited and entered two options!)

Day 3: Window

Day 4: Elegant

Day 5: Monochrome

Day 6: Emotional

Day 7: Handmade

Here's my instagram feed if you're keen to see the rest of my album: @claire_wind
