Wool Week

This week Australia has been celebrating Wool Week. Some of Australia's top fashion and interiors retailers are in to support the spotlight on wools' natural qualities and versatilities. The official Wool Week is 29th April to 5th May but many stores will continue with their wool displays until the end of June. This year the Campaign for Wool has partnered with interiors brands Orson & Blake, Fanuli, King Furniture, Workshopped, Supa Centre Moore Park, Designer Rugs and Great Dane, among many more.

Due to wools versatile, resilient and innovative features it is becoming more and more accessible for interiors. Wool will stand years of wear and tear, even more so now with the new technologies involved in creation of interior products like upholstery, carpets, curtains, cushions etc.

To launch Wool Week in Australia, artist Magda Sayeg (previously mentioned here) has created 6m tall knitted tree coverings at The Strand Arcade.

Fashion brands Camilla & Marc, Collette Dinnigan, Ellery, David Jones, Gorman, Kookai, Sambag and many more have celebrated wool week through in-store merchandising and window displays.

Country Road has created a video exploring the tactility of wool clothing (watch below).
