I've been a fan of Jessica Helgerson Interior Design for a while now after entering the site over and over to flick through photos of the many interiors they've worked on. I could imagine (or dream) of living in any one of the homes beautifully designed by JHID. This home in particular is a favourite of mine. The loft apartment in Portland's NW 13th Avenue was originally a warehouse and manufacturing facility that had been converted into condos in the 1990s. As a fairly small and pokey unit, JHID decided to open the space up to become inviting and more functional for cooking and entertaining.
Dark earthy colours are used to create visual interest and act as a contrast to the soft white walls. The use of different textiles creates an organic feel to each space, like the hand-stitched felt headboard and the vintage Moroccan rug. The organic and earthy feel continues through the use of natural materials like the large wooden dining table and the series of blown glass pendant lights.
Who wouldn't want to live in this space!!
