Chris Hardy

I discovered the work of Chris Hardy in the latest issue (September/October) of (inside) magazine. Canberra based furniture and lighting designer, Hardy is well equipped with a Bachelor of Industrial Design, Diploma of Interior Design and is currently completing a PhD. His work is influenced by key elements of modernism, sustainability and user experience together with a materials-led approach to produce Australian designs with a unique user focus.

Tania Handelsmann

Tania Handelsmann is a Sydney based architect who's work in both residential and commercial spaces is refined, luxurious and comfortable. Since finishing as an Honours graduate of the UNSW Architecture program, Handelsmann has over 15 years experience in both New York and Sydney. 

This North Sydney home is both refined and elegant. The grey and white colour palette with a mix of pale timbers, Bertoia chairs, subway tiles and metal lighting fixtures create a contemporary and timeless space.

Lyn Devon

New York Fashion Week is still ongoing, and the amount of incredible designs on show are gorgeous! These designs are by New York designer Lyn Devon who was recently married. Her Spring 2014 collection is inspired by her pre-wedding honeymoon in the Sahara Desert and Marrakech. I love the lines, colours and classic look it invokes...

Ursus Wehrli

Following on from Tuesday's post is another semi-obsessive-compulsive-disorder collection of photos. The artist this time is German born, Ursus Wehrli who photographs a normal object or scene, then changes the scene to be orderly and neat, then re-photographs it. Known as Kunst Aufraeumen or 'Tidying Up Art' his work is fun and inspiring. It look like this:

Water Street Brooklyn Apartment

This two bedroom cosy yet distinctive apartment in Brooklyn's DUMBO district is available for holiday rent over here. The combination of cement, steel, soaring ceilings and wide open windows gives the unmistakable industrial loft legacy. The view from the apartment is fitting with sweeping vistas of the East River and twinkling Manhattan beyond. I love that lounge room... the sofa... the leather armchairs... the windows... i die.

Austin Radcliffe is a student at Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis, America. Studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in printmaking and furniture design, the young creative is best known for his blog Things Organised Neatly.
